Grok Bot for legal teams: matter bots, routines and attorney review
For Attorneys, paralegals and in-house legal teams
Everything for Legal teamsSet up Grok Bot safely, then build four bots for standing matter work and put them on tested routines. Each one cites its sources, and a named attorney reviews every result before it is used.
What you’ll be able to do
By the end, you can…
How it works
A tutor that meets you where you are
- Lessons that adapt to youEach of the 30 lessons is a hands-on tutorial you follow with Grok Bot open. The explanations adjust to your level, so a paralegal who is new to agent tools and an attorney already evaluating a Teams seat can both work at the right pace.
- An AI tutor you can ask anythingAsk questions by typing or out loud, for example why a routine didn't run or how to word an Ask-first rule for your contract system. The tutor answers in the context of the lesson you're on.
- Quizzes and flashcards for each lessonShort quizzes and flashcards tied to each lesson help you retain the settings, approval rules and checks that matter before client material is involved.
- Progress tracking and a certificateTrack your progress through the nine modules and receive a certificate of completion when you finish.

Who it’s for
Made for you if…
Made for: Attorneys, paralegals and in-house legal teams
Paralegals who maintain document indexes, chronologies and matter trackers
You'll build bots that keep this standing work current between meetings. Each one routes unreadable files and conflicting entries to a reviewer and never overwrites what's already there.
Attorneys who supervise matter work and want to stay in control of it
You'll set the approval rules, citation requirements and stop points, so every bot's output reaches you as a source-linked draft for review.
In-house legal teams handling a steady flow of internal requests
You'll set up a shared intake bot that classifies requests, asks only for missing information, and leaves substantive answers to counsel.
Anyone deciding whether Grok Bot belongs in their practice at all
The first module covers plans, platforms, data handling and the never-connect rules, so you can make the decision before any client material is near it.
Questions
Good to know
Which plans include Grok Bot?
As of 28 October 2026, new customers get Grok Bot with Premium ($30/month), Super ($100) or Ultra ($200), or with a Teams seat at the same per-seat prices. Enterprise accounts have it switched on by an admin. The $8 Plus plan and Free do not include it. Some legacy Cursor and linked SuperGrok routes still work for existing customers. Plans change often, so check x.ai/pricing before you subscribe.
Can I use live client files while I take the course?
Only if your firm and the client have approved Grok Bot in writing. Otherwise, work from a sample or anonymized matter. Bot computers run in the US, subprocessors handle data, all your Bots share one computer and its logins, and prompt injection can't be fully prevented. The course explains what never to connect and why.
Do I need to write code?
No. You set up bots, skills and routines by writing plain-language instructions in chat and adjusting settings in the app. Building bots in code on the Grok API is not covered.
Is this the same as Custom Agents in Grok chat?
No. Grok Bot runs persistent bots on a cloud computer, with connected apps and routines that keep working while you're away. Custom Agents are saved personas inside Grok chat. The course covers them only as a comparison, because their menus and limits are not officially documented.
Will the bots send email, file documents or sign anything?
No. The course sets bots up to draft and prepare only, with approval required before anything is sent, written to a system of record or signed. Privilege determinations, discovery requests, filing and e-signatures stay with the attorney.
Does the course check that citations are real?
The research-outline bot opens each source it cites, marks anything it couldn't open as UNVERIFIED, and hands the outline to an attorney. The attorney then reads each authority in an appropriate legal research source before the outline is used.
What do I need before I start?
You need regular use of a chat AI tool for simple drafting, familiarity with matter files, and access to an eligible plan or permission to evaluate one. You also need a firm or company account, a sample matter, and a basic understanding of your jurisdiction's professional-conduct duties on AI, such as ABA Formal Opinion 512 in the US.
Will the screens look exactly like the lessons?
Not always. Grok Bot's menu labels have changed between app versions. Where a label is unverified or has changed, the lesson says so and describes the step in general terms, so you can find it in your own version.
