Hand Manus real legal preparation, and check every line before anyone relies on it

For Attorneys, paralegals and in-house legal teams

Everything for Legal teams

A hands-on course for attorneys, paralegals and in-house teams: set up Manus with the least access that works, brief it on memos, chronologies and contract reviews, and verify the results at the source.

What you’ll be able to do

By the end, you can…

Decide whether Manus fits a matterWork through plan, credits, regional availability, the data-training terms of each plan, and your firm's and client's approval. Then confirm the current terms on Manus's official pages, because they change.
Set up a workspace with the least access that worksUse a Team plan with SSO for client work, read-only connector scopes, Allow Once for local commands and Skip confirmations left off. Learn what must never go into an unapproved workspace, such as privileged or identifying client material.
Brief long tasks so the important questions stay visibleWrite a long-task brief and a Project master instruction that set out your role, the client's position, jurisdiction, permitted sources, approval checkpoints and output format. Then approve or edit Manus's plan in Plan Mode before it builds anything.
Produce four legal work productsBuild a research memo with a citation table, a source-linked chronology that flags conflicts, an issues list checked against your negotiation playbook, and a plain-language client briefing deck. In each one, allegations stay separate from established facts.
Run a weekly digest and share work safelySchedule a regulatory-change digest from named public sources, then share work through Team access and Guest reviewer seats. An attorney approves anything before it is sent or published.
Check the output before it is usedReplay the session, open the cited sources, verify every authority in a proper legal research source, rebuild key figures, and keep a written log of anything you could not verify.

How it works

A tutor that meets you where you are

  1. Lessons that adjust to your levelEach lesson is a tutorial you follow with Manus open. It sets out the goal, what you need first, numbered steps, copy-paste prompts and a legal worked example, then a checkpoint and what to do if the result isn't right. The lessons adjust to your level, so a paralegal new to agents and a counsel who already uses chat assistants each start from where they are.
  2. An AI tutor you can ask anythingType or speak your questions. You might ask how to adapt a brief to your jurisdiction, why a connector scope matters, or what to do when a task stalls. The tutor works through it with you, one to one.
  3. Quizzes and flashcards for each lessonShort quizzes and flashcards tied to each lesson help you remember settings, menu names and checking steps, so you can use them on a live matter.
  4. Progress tracking and a certificateTrack your progress across all nine modules and receive a certificate of completion when you finish.

Who it’s for

Made for you if…

Made for: Attorneys, paralegals and in-house legal teams

Paralegals who build chronologies and document inventories

You'll learn to get source-linked chronologies with page references, short supporting quotes and conflict flags. You'll also learn to add late documents without restarting, and to spot-check every entry against the cited page.

Attorneys who want first drafts they can verify

You'll brief research memos and contract reviews that keep jurisdiction, sources and open questions in view. Each memo comes with a citation table and a re-check pass, and you verify every authority yourself before relying on it.

In-house counsel tracking regulatory change

You'll set up a weekly digest from named regulator and court sources that reports any source it couldn't reach, and build plain-language briefings for the business, with an attorney approval step before anything goes out.

Lawyers deciding whether to propose Manus to their firm

You'll learn what each plan's data terms say, how Team workspaces, roles and SSO work, and what must never be uploaded or connected. That gives you the basis for a careful, well-informed proposal.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need a paid Manus plan to take this course?

You can learn the interface on the Free plan. As of October 28, 2026, Free gives 300 daily credits, capped at 1,500 a month and usable only on Manus 2.0 Lite. Pro (from $20 and from $40 a month) adds features such as Wide Research and slides. The course recommends a Team plan (from $20 per seat a month) for any client work. Prices change, so check manus.im/pricing before you buy.

Can I use real client documents while I practise?

Practise on public, sample or redacted documents. Don't use live privileged or identifying client material unless your firm has approved Manus and the client has consented. The course shows you how to sort documents into allowed, redact first or never.

Is Manus available where I work?

Manus does not publish an official list of supported countries, and access from mainland China has been blocked since mid-2025. Confirm that Manus is offered in your location when you sign up. The course does not cover any way around regional, plan or terms-of-service limits.

Is Manus still part of Meta?

No. Manus announced it had resumed independent operations on September 1, 2026. Lesson 1 shows you how to spot out-of-date ownership and pricing claims in older guides.

What else do I need before starting?

You need working knowledge of legal research and review practice in your own jurisdiction, your firm's AI policy or a clear answer on whether Manus is approved, Chrome or Edge, an email, Google, Apple or Microsoft account for sign-up (you must be 18 or older), and access to a legal research service such as Westlaw, Lexis or official court and legislative sites for checking authority.

Does the course cover court rules or bar rules on disclosing AI use?

No. Rules on disclosing AI use vary by jurisdiction, so you'll need to check your own local rules. The course does cover the general principle that responsibility for the work stays with the lawyer, with reference to ABA Formal Opinion 512.

Will Manus make privilege calls or send discovery requests?

No. Those decisions stay with the attorney, and the course does not teach them. Every workflow has Manus prepare work for review, never send, publish or file it on its own.

What isn't covered?

The course does not cover Cue, agent payments or phone calls, public marketing websites with payments or custom domains, video, music, voice and image generation, custom MCP servers, the Manus API or Manus Flex, or multi-agent Factory design. Other courses in the Legal track cover proactive agents and Factories.
