Make project monitoring report real changes, not duplicates
For Consultants, project leads, managers and professionals who turn information into plans, decisions and client work
Everything for ProfessionalsConfigure an AI monitoring agent that deduplicates, filters for relevance to your project, and reports only what actually changed — in a short digest you'll actually read.
What you’ll be able to do
By the end, you can…
How it works
A tutor that meets you where you are
- Lessons that adapt to your levelEach lesson is written for intermediate professionals and adjusts as you progress, so later lessons meet you where you are.
- Ask your AI tutor anythingType or speak questions to an AI tutor that knows the course material and can work through your own project examples with you.
- Quizzes and flashcards per lessonEvery lesson has tied quizzes and flashcards so you can check your understanding of relevance criteria, deduplication rules and digest formatting before moving on.
- Progress tracking and a certificateTrack your progress through the six lessons and receive a certificate of completion when you finish.
Curriculum
The curriculum
Six lessons across three modules take you from a vague monitoring need to a documented brief a colleague or replacement agent can run. You'll work with examples from your own project throughout.
Module 1Define What Matters2 lessons
1Turn a Vague Monitoring Need Into a Written Brief
- Describe the gap between a monitoring need and an instruction an agent can execute
- Write a one-paragraph monitoring purpose statement tied to a named project decision or deliverable
- List the client-confidential identifiers that must not enter unapproved monitoring connections
2Write Relevance Criteria Anchored to Project Decisions
- Map each monitored topic to a specific project decision or deliverable it informs
- Write relevance criteria as testable yes/no conditions an agent can apply
- Spot and rewrite relevance criteria that are too broad and would admit noise
Module 2Define What Counts as New2 lessons
3Write a 'What Counts as New' Rule
- Classify a sample monitoring item as event, re-report, restatement or syndicated duplicate
- Write a 'what counts as new' rule an agent can apply to decide whether to include an item
- Choose a time window after which a re-report of an earlier event becomes inadmissible as 'new'
4Set Deduplication Instructions Across Sources
- Write deduplication instructions that tell the agent when two items are the same event
- Specify how the agent should pick a single representative source among duplicates
- Define how the digest should note that an item appeared across multiple sources without listing each one
Module 3Format, Test and Hand Off2 lessons
5Design a Short Digest Format That Fits One Screen
- Specify a fixed digest structure with the four required fields: change, source, why it matters, suggested action
- Set length limits so the digest fits one screen and each entry is scannable
- Define an urgency marker that separates items requiring action today from items for awareness
6Test, Tighten and Document the Monitoring Configuration
- Run the monitoring configuration against a sample week of input and classify each output as correct, duplicate or irrelevant
- Identify which rule failed for each incorrect output and rewrite it to close the gap
- Produce a documented monitoring brief that a colleague or replacement agent can run without reinterpretation
Who it’s for
Made for you if…
Made for: Consultants, project leads, managers and professionals who turn information into plans, decisions and client work
A consultant who gets a morning digest of the same press release from five sources
You want the one real change surfaced, not the five copies, and you want it tied to the client decision it affects.
A project lead who has stopped reading monitoring updates
You know you'll miss the one thing that matters, so you want a digest short enough to scan and structured enough to act on.
A manager handing monitoring off to a colleague or another agent
You need a written brief with explicit rules so the next person can run it without guessing what you meant.
Questions
Good to know
Do I need experience with AI assistants before taking this course?
Yes. You should have experience giving written instructions to an AI assistant for a work task, and you should have a current project or engagement where you already receive or would benefit from a regular monitoring update.
Does this course cover setting up data sources, feeds or API integrations?
No. This course focuses on configuring what your monitoring agent reports — relevance criteria, deduplication rules and digest format. It does not cover building software, retrieval pipelines or integrations.
Will I work on my own project or a generic example?
You'll work with examples from your own project. The course follows a sample service-improvement project as a reference, with room to substitute a comparable assignment from your role.
Does the course address keeping client-confidential information out of monitoring?
Yes. One lesson covers listing the client-confidential identifiers that must not enter unapproved monitoring connections.
How long does the course take?
The course is estimated at two hours of focused work across six lessons.
